Police in Morgan County are investigating after a fatal shooting involving a police officer Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened at around 2 p.m. at a home on Liberty Road in West Liberty. So far, police have not released many details in the incident, but do say the person shot has died and that the officer involved was not hurt.

A nearby elementary school was put on lockdown as a precaution shortly after the incident, but officials say nobody at the school was in any danger.
