Police say they arrested a man and charged him with tampering with evidence after a shooting in Lexington early Monday morning.
Police responded to a report of a shot fired at the Westminster Apartments along Versailles Road around 4 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a victim limping along nearby Heartsbrook Lane with a gunshot wound to the leg. EMS took him to UK Hospital for treatment.
Officers shut down Versailles Road for a short time as officers searched for the shooter. They arrested a man who tried to hide a gun, but investigators say they don't know if it was the one used in the shooting.
Police say there were several people in the apartment at the time of the shooting, and they are questioning witnesses trying to figure out what led up to the incident.
