Nicholasville police continue to investigate after firefighters found equipment and ingredients associated with making meth at a fire scene Thursday.
The fire broke out inside a home along Mill Street around 5:30 p.m. Police say one person was inside at the time and made it out uninjured. Firefighters had to stretch nearly 1,000 feet of hose to reach the blaze.
Investigators say after the fire was out, firefighters found ingredients and equipment used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Police say it's too early to tell whether there was an active meth lab in the home, or if that was the cause of the fire.
Police say the man who was in the home was decontaminated by the fire department and taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Police say they have not filed any charges at this time, but continue to investigate.
