Police are investigating a report of a student threatening to bring a weapon to Scott County Middle School.

A letter went home to parents Thursday informing them of the situation. The letter says students came forward to school staff to alert them about another student who had talked about bringing a weapon to school.

School officials say the threat was not directed at any specific person.
