Lexington police made an arrest in connection with the city's first murder of 2013 early Wednesday morning.

Officers picked up Quante "Little Foot" Johnson, 18, and charged him with murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection with a Jan. 5 murder.

Police found Joe Randolph suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a Simpson Avenue home that day. He later died at UK Hospital. Police initially had not leads, but the family made a plea for anybody in the neighborhood to come forward with information.

Police did not release any information on the investigation that led to Johnson's arrest.

Randolph's family members say they are excited about the arrest, but still concerned the justice system could fail them.
