Lexington police took three people into custody after an armed robbery at a convenience store early Wednesday morning.
Police say two men walked into the Speedway on Paris Pike around 3 a.m., showed a shotgun and robbed the clerk of beer and money. Officers brought in a K9 named Exo and the dog tracked the suspects to a home on Strawberry Fields.
A trail of beer cans helped lead officers and the K9 to their suspects.
It remains unclear how the third person was involved in the robbery, or if that person will face charges.
The clerk was the only person in the store at the time, and he was not injured.
