Lexington police say a man stabbed a dog to death and threatened to kill two friends because God told him to.
According to court documents, Robert Hiett, 42, admitted stabbing a caged pit bull to death. He also admitted plotting to kill two friends. Investigators say he told them the plan failed when he couldn't get them alone. He allegedly told police he needed to kill the two people because it was "God's will."
Police arrested Hiett Sunday, and charged with animal cruelty and terroristic threatening.
He is scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday.
