A Taylor County man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly killed his great-grandmother with a hammer.

The incident happened Sunday at a home in Campbellsville. Police say Jesse J. Durham, 20, went to the home of Elizabeth Arinsmier, his great-grandmother, on Daisy Drive, and had a verbal confrontation with her.

Court records say that Durham admitted to grabbing a hammer and repeatedly striking Arinsmier in the head until she died after they argued.

Durham is being held in the Taylor County Detetntion Center.
