Police Now Say Women Weren't Robbed

Police now say a reported robbery outside of a Lexington restaurant was part of a drug deal gone bad.

Officers responded to the White Castle on New Circle Road just after 4 a.m. after two women reported a robbery. Police say the woman initially claimed they drove to the White Castle on New Circle Road to get some food, and while they were parked outside the restaurant a man approached and robbed them of jewelery and some cash.

But investigators say one of the women later admitted they reported the robbery hoping to get money back from a drug deal.

Police say one of the women could face charges for making a false report.
