Police: Pistol Used In Fatal Christmas Day Shooting In Bourbon County Recovered

State Police said Thursday that they have recovered a pistol that was allegedly used in a Christmas Day fatal shooting in Bourbon County.

Police say William C. Ross, 36, shot Leroy Richardson and Joe Richardson at a home in Bourbon County early Christmas morning. Leroy Richardson died at the scene. Joe Richardson managed to call 911 and continues to recover at UK Hospital from a gunshot wound to the head. Police arrested Ross and charged him with murder and assault later that day after he turned himself in.

Through the investigation, it was learned that the pistol allegedly used in the shooting was thrown into Stoner Creek on Kentucky 57. The Lexington Fire Department Dive team was called for assistance in recovering the pistol. On December 28, the dive team was able to locate the pistol in approximately three feet of water.

Police say troopers also arrested William Bradley Yeaples, 38, of Paris and charged him with tampering with physical evidence in the case.

Investigators also charged John Haynes, 34, with first degree complicity to assault.

Police have not released any details about Haynes' and Bradley's involvement in the shootings.
