Police say a man trying to pass a stopped school bus in Rowan County Wednesday morning hit a student.

According to a police report, Scottie D. Ingle, 30, was heading southbound along KY-519 around 7:10 a.m. when he tried to pass the bus. The car hit a student trying to board. The victim was airlifted to UK Hospital for treatment. Officials did not release any information on the student's condition.

Police say charges against Ingle are pending.
