Police say an accident that caused a huge backup on I-64 Wednesday morning was probably the result of weather.

A semi jackknifed around mile marker 101, near the Montgomery County line around 7:30 a.m,, as a strong line of storms pushed through the area. Police say torrential rain and strong winds likely cause the wreck. The truck blocked both westbound lanes, and it took crews several hours to get the tractor-trailer moved. Traffic backed up for miles. Crews finally cleared the scene by midday.

Nobody was injured.
