Officials say a driver involved in a Laurel County crash Tuesday night admitted drinking eight beers before the wreck.

Police say John Napier swerved into oncoming traffic along KY-80, slamming head-on into a car driven by Stacy Torres, 51.

EMS took Torres to a local hospital for treatment. Napier was airlifted from the scene. His injuries were described as serious.

Police said Napier admitted to drinking prior to the crash.
