A Lexington man was arrested after police say he beat and robbed his own ex-girlfriend.

According to court documents, investigators say 50-year-old Clifford Crenshaw beat the woman over the head with a wooden box, cut her throat with scissors and threw her out of a screen door.

Officers say they found Crenshaw with the victim's car key, cell phone and Walmart credit card.

Crenshaw's charged with robbery and tampering with evidence.
