A Kentucky State Police trooper says a Lexington man tried to grab his gun during a traffic stop Monday.
According to court documents, the trooper pulled over Brian Gerson, 20, for reckless driving along Mall Road around 2:30 p.m. The trooper says he spotted marijuana inside the car, and when he got Gerson out, the suspect began getting aggressive. Police say Gerson resisted, screamed he was not going to jail and tried to grab the trooper's sidearm. According to the police report, he may have even tried to find a gun hidden on the trooper's ankle.
Police finally got Gerson under control and arrested him. He faces several charges including DUI, disarming a peace officer, reckless driving, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence.
