Police say a man who was the cause of a Versailles neighborhood lock down was not inside his home when they went in Thursday afternoon, and a search is now on for him.
Police say the man, identified as William Lloyd, visited a nearby hospital earlier Thursday and allegedly threatened to hurt himself before he left. Police then contacted Lloyd, who then allegedly threatened to shoot at police.
Police then went to his residence on Quail Run Road in the Stonegate neighborhood, surrounded the home and closed all the streets in the surrounding area at around 3:30 p.m.
Police went into the home just after 5:30 p.m., and Lloyd was not inside. They are now searching for Lloyd, who they say is armed and dangerous.
Police have let residents of the Stonegate neighborhood back into their homes.
