Police Search For Suspect In Attempted Robbery

Berea Police are looking for a man they say attempted to rob two people with a knife at Boone Tavern last Wednesday around 9:30 p.m.

A victim told police she got off work at Boone Tavern and was walking on Jackson Street, behind the Boone Tavern parking lot, when a man came out from behind a bush and demanded money from her while holding a knife.

The victim yelled at someone who was walking on Jackson Street and the man ran away, according to police.

A co-worker heard the scream and saw the man running away, who then also demanded money form her as he ran by. He ran across the street toward the area of Union Church, police say.

A K-9 was called to the scene and was able to track past Union Church to an open field near the college greenhouse where the sent was lost.

Officers were unable to find the suspect.

He is described as a 5'10" man weighing about 130 lbs, wearing a ski mask, black pants and a black and gray shirt.

Police say no one was injured and he did not get money from either one of the victims.
