Police are searching for a Fayette County inmate who did not return after a funeral.

Officials say DeMarcus Dakarr Simpson, 22, was released on a court ordered to attend a memorial service Tuesday and failed to return by the 8 p.m. deadline.

Simpson was in jail for a parole violation, drug trafficking and other charges. Officials say he will now face an escape charge when he's found.
