Defense lawyers for a man accused of running down and killing a Lexington police officer said in court Monday that a home video may exist of a woman who they say confessed in the video to actually being the person behind the wheel in the incident.
Police say Glen Doneghy was driving the SUV that hit and killed Bryan Durman as he was responding to a call last April.
In the bombshell revealed Monday, the defense says they've been aware of the woman all along but only found about the possible video this month.
The hearing continued into the afternoon Monday, and no other details are currently available. So far, it has not been revealed who is in possession of the the alleged video with the confession on it.
A judge denied a change of venue motion back on May 24, ruling that the trial will take place in Fayette County unless a jury cannot be seated.
Doneghy's trial is scheduled to start next Monday.
