FRANKFORT (AP) - Public meetings are scheduled in Louisville, Lexington and Harlan on requests for rate increases by Kentucky Utilities Co. and Louisville Gas & Electric Co.
The Kentucky Public Service Commission is holding the meetings this month.
KU proposes to generate an additional $82.4 million annually with its electric rate increases, an increase of about 6.5 percent.
LG&E has asked to generate an additional $62.1 million annually with an increase of about 6.9 percent.
The Harlan meeting is first, at 5:30 p.m. EST on Nov. 8 at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College auditorium.
Lexington's meeting is at 6:30 p.m. EST Nov. 15 at Farish Theater at Lexington Public Library.
Louisville's meeting is at 5:30 p.m. EST Nov. 20 at Louisville Male High School's Durrett Auditorium.
