A Pulaski County mom is accused of sending a pornographic image and providing alcohol to a 17-year-old boy. The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department says Ann Marie Alexander, 39, admitted to authorities she sent the explicit text message in January, but her attorney tells LEX18 it's a big misunderstanding.
Grande Avenue in Somerset is the kind of neighborhood where kids play outside and folks feel safe taking long walks. But does anyone really know what happens behind closed doors? None of the neighbors we talked to knew Alexander faced charges as of Thursday.
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department accuses Alexander of sending a pornographic image to a 17-year-old friend of her daughter's. Police say she texted the boy a picture of male genitalia. A parent of the boy reported it to police. Alexander is also charged with giving the teen alcohol. Police say she told them she gave the boy alcohol because she didn't want him to get it from a bootlegger.
LEX18 tried to get Alexander's side of the story. She wasn't home, but her daughter told LEX18 her mom was meeting with her attorney. The attorney, Scott Foster, later talked to us, saying it is all a big misunderstanding. He says the 17-year-old is Alexander's daughter's boyfriend, and there was a mix-up.
The parents of the boy did not want him to be identified. Alexander was issued a summons for the charges of unlawful transaction with a minor third degree and distribution of obscene matter to a minor first offense. She's due in court March 6th.
