As the Red Cross relief effort enters its second week of service delivery, teams of Client Caseworkers are canvassing affected areas in Southern Indiana and Eastern Kentucky to assess the ongoing needs of families ravaged by the recent tornadoes. Client Caseworkers reach out to families to help determine recovery options such as housing, food, clothing, and medications.
Currently teams of caseworkers are meeting with families at these Service Delivery locations: Country Lake Retreat at 815 Country Lake Road in Underwood, Indiana and at the Morgan Central Elementary School at 3201 Hwy. 460 W. in West Liberty, Kentucky.
Caseworkers not only help plan recovery, but also provide additional resources. Teams of caseworkers are making outreach visits to families who are unable to travel to the Service Centers. Families can call 1-800-696-3873 for information about assistance.
Ongoing relief efforts include mobile feeding and distribution of clean-up items such as rakes, shovels, utility gloves, coolers, tarps, and water from Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicles in Indiana and Kentucky. One shelter remains open in West Liberty at:
