A Marion County grand jury has indicted a man on charges of possession of child pornography.
Sherman Pike, 45, of Lebanon is charged withfour counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor, a Class D felony.
Pike, a convicted sex offender, was also indicted on one count of being a persistent felony offender, first degree.
Officials arrested Pike, with assistance from the Marion County Sheriff's Department and Lebanon Police Department, after executing a search warrant at his home on February 1, 2010. Pike’s arrest and subsequent indictment are the result of an investigation by the Attorney General's Cybercrimes Unit that began in October 2009.
Pike was previously convicted in Tennessee in 1991 of aggravated sexual battery involving a 10-year-old girl and is now a lifetime registered sex offender.
Pike is jailed on a $200,000 cash bond. He will be arraigned in Marion Circuit Court on March 29.
