Police arrested a Madison County man for allegedly having pornography involving children, including an infant.
Police arrested Sean M. Burkhead, 35, of Richmond and charged him for possession of Matter Portraying a sexual performance by a minor. The charge stems from a 2011 investigation.
On January 10, 2011, a report was made to Richmond Police alleging that Burkhead was involved in downloading and viewing child pornographic from the internet. An investigation was initiated into the allegations at that time.
On March 3, police executed a search warrant at Burkhead's residence, recovering a computer and numerous other storage devices and ancillary items. All items were eventually sent to the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crimes Section for examination.
The examination subsequently identified four images on Burkhead's computer that depicted females obviously under the age of 18 posing in the nude and one image depicting an infant involved in a sex act.
On Monday, upon receipt of the KSP report, the investigating RPD detective obtained a warrant for Burkhead's arrest, charging him for the aforementioned offense. He was taken into custody after appearing at the police station later on the same date and is being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
