Police in Richmond are investigating after a man was shot early Friday morning.

Police say a man showed up on the porch of a home along Central Court just before 1 a.m. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The 27-year-old victim told police at least two men approached him along the railroad tracks between Madison Central High School and Central Court. Investigators say the victim told them he didn't know the men and has no idea why they shot him.

Officials say the man's wounds were not life threatening.

Police continue to investigate.
