Richmond police arrested a 17-year-old after he pointed a shotgun at officers and then barricaded himself inside a trailer.
Police say they got a call reporting a male on the front porch of a mobile home on Big Hill Avenue around 1:26 a.m. When officers arrived, the suspect pointed the gun at two officers and challenged them, then retreated inside the trailer.
The Richmond Police Department activated its Emergency Response Unit. The team made contact with the suspect and a negotiator spoke with the juvenile for about 30 minutes, finally persuading him to surrender without incident.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
Police say they recovered a shotgun at the scene.
