Richmond Shooting Suspect Still On The Loose

A man was shot in the stomach in Richmond Monday afternoon, and police say the shooter is still on the run.

According to police, the shooting took place around 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of Race and Spring Streets. Eyewitness Destiny Fox was on her front porch when the lone shot was fired.

"My sister was right behind the boy who got shot. How scary was this? Very!" said Fox.

Authorities said the victim was shot in the stomach and taken to UK Hospital. As of Monday evening, he is in surgery and expected to survive.

Fox described what she saw. "He was pulling out of his driveway and as he was pulling away he stuck the gun out the window and shot Damien. I seen Damien hit the ground and I ran over to him. He drove off real fast," stated Fox.

Police said they are looking for Tony Ray Donta Gay. Gay is considered armed and dangerous. Surveillance video shows Gay fleeing the scene in his black 2001 Ford Taurus, with license plate: 408-LBD. At this time, authorities say a motive is not known.

Authorities don't believe Gay is alone - they think his girlfriend Nicole Transeau is with him. If you have any information, you are asked to contact Richmond Police.
