A rock slide cause a semi to overturn on I-75 in Whitley County Sunday night.

The accident happened at about 10 p.m. in the northbound lanes near mile marker 24. Police Wayne Perkinson, 59, of Henderson, North Carolina was avoiding a rock slide that had spilled onto the interstate, causing his 2009 International tractor trailer to overturn causing lane closures for several hours.

Drugs and alcohol are not factors in the collision and Perkinson was wearing his seatbelt at the time of incident.
