Patricia Sims says the white minivan came out of nowhere when it hit her from behind on I-64 in Montgomery County.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday near the 108 mile marker. Sims says she had pulled over onto the side of the road to let her husband drive. Seconds later, Sims says she was standing outside her car when a white minivan hit her left side hard enough to throw her onto her car, and then took off.
"He was driving at least 70 miles per hour. He had to have been," Sims said.
A trip to the Emergency Room revealed no broken bones and no internal bleeding. Even so, the accident left several bumps and bruises on Sims, who says she has a history of back problems and fears the jolt will make those problems even worse.
State police say since no one saw the van's license plate number, there's not much they can do unless someone comes forward with information.
