A runaway truck hit an apartment building in Lexington Friday morning.

Police say the Best Buy delivery truck backed into a loading dock at the South Park store around 7 a.m. The driver thought he had the vehicle in park, but it started rolling down the hill. The truck barreled through a fence, hit a tree and then slammed into the wall of an apartment building along Loch Ness Drive.

The impact caused some minor damage to an exterior wall and broke an electrical meter panel. A KU crew cut power to the building, and firefighters evacuated several units.

There were no injuries.
