A letter was sent home Tuesday to the parents of B. Michael Caudill Middle School to inform parents of a situation that happened on the campus Tuesday morning.
Earlier in the day, the administration at school was made aware of a possible weapon at school. School officials took immediate action and discovered that a student had a toy gun in his possession.
After a thorough investigation with assistance from the school resource officer and Richmond Police Department, officials said they feel confident that the students are safe at school. The students in question will face appropriate disciplinary consequences.
The letter was sent home to inform parents about the situation and also to reinforce with students the importance of not bringing dangerous items to school; even a toy gun is never allowed on campus.
