Police arrested about 20 suspects during a drug roundup in Scott County Wednesday.
Officers began making arrests early Wednesday morning, knocking on doors throughout the county, going after dozens of suspected drug dealers. Police say the arrests come after more than a year of undercover investigations by the Scott County Sheriff's Department and Kentucky State Police. They say most of the people arrested stand accused of selling prescription pills.
Judges handed down indictments for more than 40 suspected dealers.
LEX 18 spoke to a woman who lives next door to an apartment where police suspected drug activity. She says it comes as quite a shock.
"If I'd known about it I probably wouldn't have moved here, but it's everywhere. It's gonna be there no matter what, so you just have to watch for yourself and take caution, and you gotta look out, you know?" Lisa Jones said.
Police say they've arrested about 20 of the more than 40 suspects wanted, and they will continue to search for those they have yet to find.
