On Thursday night, search crews in Wolfe County found a missing 66-year-old man with dementia.

Gerald Bush was alive and airlifted to UK Hospital.

Bush went missing Monday. Family members say they left him in an area along Sky Bridge Road for no more than 15 minutes, and in that time he disappeared. Bush suffers from dementia.

More than 100 volunteers helped Wolfe County Search and Rescue crews comb the rugged Red River Gorge area over the past few days looking for Bush. Searchers used bloodhounds, and a helicopter utilized cameras to look from above, all to no avail. Crews covered about 700 acres, paying particular attention to areas where Bush could have fallen over steep cliffs.
