Police continue the search for a suspect after a deadly shooting outside of a Lexington nursing home Tuesday afternoon.
A 31-year-old man was shot and killed behind the Northpoint Health Care Center on Trent Boulevard. Police say three people were involved in some sort of altercation and three shots were fired. Investigators say the three people knew each other and at least one of the people worked at the nursing home.
"We had multiple people calling in, and we're working through that information as people provided it. I feel certain we'll be able to identify the party that's no longer here," Lexington Police Department Lt. Scott Blakely said.
Officials have not released the victim's name.
Police say the shooting was not related to the nursing home itself and all of the residents are safe.
