The Kentucky State Police search warrant that led state police to the offices of Woodford County coroner James Steve Ward last month has been unsealed.

The search warrant says investigators were called by deputy coroner Danny Owens about possible child pornography. It says Owens provided them a copy of a CD that contained images of young naked girls, some believed to be in the age range of 8 to 11 years old. The warrant says Owens found the disk in the computer of the Woodford County coroner while Ward was in Florida.

Owens also stated to police that Ward would read him excerpts from a journal that Ward removed from a case, where a now-deceased person had sexual relationships with young children and animals.

State police also requested the removal of all computer equipment, cell phones and any other digital media used for sending and receiving or storing information for further examination off site.

A state police spokesperson says that at this point no charges have yet been filed against Ward.
