A section of US 42 is dedicated in honor of country music star Kenny Price Saturday.
Family, friends and fans gathered at the US 42 White Castle in Florence to honor Boone County native Kenny Price.
The section to be named in his honor is from I-75 to KY 237 (Gunpowder Road), and will now be known as Kenny Price Memorial Highway.
Price, who died of a heart failure in 1987, is known for being a singer, songwriter and actor. Fans nicknames him "Round Mound of Sound," as he charted 34 singles between 1966 and 1980, hosted the country music show WLW's Midwestern Hayride and was a cast member of the television show "Hee Haw."
Senator John Schickel sponsored the legislation to honor Price.
