Danville police continue to investigate after an Ephraim McDowell Diagnostic Center security guard was assaulted Saturday night.
Police say officers responded to an alarm at the Ephraim McDowell Diagnostic Center around 9:20 p.m. After checking the building, they determined it was secure.
About 20 minutes later, the alarm sounded again. Police say medical center officials told them a security guard was checking the building. At 9:57 p.m., police were called to investigate an assault at the diagnostic center. Police say security officer Bobby Potts told them he was checking the building's outside doors when somebody struck him in the back of the head and pushed him down the stairs.
Potts was treated for minor injuries at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center.
