Several fire departments responded to a house fire in Pulaski County Tuesday afternoon.

The fire broke out at a home on Nelson Valley Road east of Science Hill. Several departments were needed because the home is located in remote area that fire trucks had trouble getting access to, so water was carried to the home to fight the fire.

Firefighters say the fire destroyed the home.

Officials say there was no one home at the time, but they are not sure what started the fire.
