Winchester firefighters battled a fire and rescued several residents at the Hillcrest Manor Apartment complex along Oxford Drive Wednesday morning

The blaze broke out around 7:45 a.m.

Officials say firefighters rescued several residents from the burning building. One firefighter called for aid while battling the blaze, but officials say he is no longer in danger.
