Shots Fired Into Lexington Apartment

Police continue to investigate after somebody fired shots into a Lexington apartment early Tuesday morning.

Police say the shooter fired at least three shots through the window of an apartment on Waller Avenue. The bullets ended up in a neighboring unit. David Campbell said he was sitting on the couch with his girlfriend when the shooting started around 3:30 a.m.

"Me and my girlfriend were on the couch lying down. We heard the first one, and I jumped over her, and then I heard two more. Oh my god it was weird," he said.

There were four people inside at the time, but nobody was hurt.

There was no sign of the suspect when police arrived.

Police say a high-powered rifle was used and a Maroon SUV was spotted leaving the area around the time of the shooting.

The victims say they have no idea why anybody would target them.
