Lexington police chased down a man after more than half a dozen shots were fired into a home early Tuesday morning.
Police say somebody fired seven shots into the back door of a house along East Loudon Avenue around 3 a.m. A family was at home at the time, but nobody was injured.
A short time later, officers spotted a man walking in the area, carrying a bag. He took off running and police chased him down, catching him at York Street and Maple Avenue. Officers say they found a backpack along nearby railroad tracks and they think it belongs to the suspect. Police found three handguns inside the bag.
Police took the man into custody, but have not filed any charges related to the shooting at this time.
Shots were fired during a home invasion along the same road Monday morning. Three masked men broke into a home just a few hundred yards from Tuesday morning's incident. Police say they don't know if the crimes share any connection.
