Shots rang out behind a Lexington motel late Wednesday night.

Police say witnesses heard gunfire along the back side of the Catalina Motel at New Circle Road and Broadway just after 11:30 p.m. At least one bullet hit the building, shattering a window. One person inside told police they were there visiting a friend and nobody was hurt.

Investigators say they don't have any description of the shooter and have no idea why that person shot into the motel.
