You will find slick and hazardous driving conditions if you have to venture out Friday morning.
One to two inches of snow fell across the Bluegrass overnight. The snow, coupled with temperatures dropping to near single-digits in some areas, created a slippery mess. Blowing snow caused near white-out conditions at times.
Major roads in Lexington, such as New Circle Road and Man O' War are wet with areas of slush. Snow and ice cover many turn lanes and overpasses. Secondary roads remain snow and ice covered. Police reported several accidents overnight due to slick roads.
Officials in surrounding counties report similar conditions.
Be sure to give yourself a little extra time, take it slow and allow extra stopping distance.
