A Somerset woman has been charged in connection with sending pornographic images and providing alcohol to a minor.
In January, the Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation into a complaint from a parent that an adult had provided alcoholic beverages to their underage child. During the investigation, detectives learned that the same adult had sent a pornographic image to the child by text message.
The adult suspect was identified as Ann Marie Alexander of Somerset. During interviews with detectives, she admitted that she provided the alcohol to the child because she did not want him buying alcohol from a bootlegger. She also admitted that she sent the inappropriate image to the child by text message.
Alexander, 39, was charged on Thursday with third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and distribution of obscene matter to minors, 1st offense.
Alexander is set to appear in court on March 6 to answer to these charges.
