Southern Spots Clipped By Winter Storm Today

For most of us it's a pretty quiet Thursday - but not for all of us. A developing storm system to our south will clip our extreme southeastern counties today with a wintry mix of precipitation. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 5PM this evening for the Virginia border counties - Bell, Harlan, Letcher and Pike. Southeastern KY will see some rain/freezing rain mix with some sleet and snow (mainly in the advisory counties) by around midday today. Some light sleet/snow accumulation is possible in these areas with locally higher amounts possible in the higher elevations. The rest of us will see mostly cloudy conditions through the middle of the day and some clearing this afternoon.
