A Spencer County mother charged with reckless homicide after police found her 3-month-old infant dead in her home pleaded not guilty in the case Friday.

Kentucky State Police in Frankfort reported that 30-year-old Amy Covyeow-Dorner of Taylorsville was under the influence of illegal substances when she left the child on a living room chair to sleep last week. He was not breathing when police arrived Saturday morning.

Covyeow-Dorner was also charged with three counts of wanton endangerment because there were three other children in her care at the time of the baby's death.
