A sprinkler system did its job after a van caught fire inside a Lexington building early Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were called out to Stanley Steamer at the Fortune Business Center on Fortune Drive around 4:30 a.m. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke, but initially couldn't locate the fire. Once they got inside, they found a Stanley Steamer van had caught fire inside of a bay. The sprinkler system doused the flames before the fire spread any further.
Crews shut down Fortune Drive for about 30 minutes to stretch hose lines. The road is back open.
Firefighter say the fire destroyed the van and there was heavy water damage inside the bay where several other vans were parked.
There were no reported injuries.
Firefighter continue to investigate to determine what sparked the blaze.
