Stanton remains under a boil water advisory after a break in a major Powell County water line.
The line that feeds a reservoir broke Wednesday morning, dropping water levels by half. Powell County Emergency Management assistant director Mike Sparks says residents need to do all they can to limit water use until crews can make repairs.
"We're asking people to actually, to really be conservative, and try your best to keep the water off until we get this temporary line fix, or we can fill the tanks back up," he said.
Officials did not give any estimate as to how long the boil water advisory will remain in effect.
