Kentucky State Police said Tuesday that the case against a Russell County Sheriff's deputy will be sent to a grand jury despite all of the charges being dropped last week.

All charges against deputy Nick Bertram were dismissed on February 15 by the the Russell County District Court. He was facing official misconduct, evidence tampering and drug possession charges.

State police said despite the dismissal of charges, they will present the investigation to the Russell County grand jury later this month.
