Storm Damage Confirmed So Far

There is widespread damage across the state from Friday's storms, and LEX 18 is continuing to gather damage reports.

Kentucky Emergency Management spokesman Buddy Rogers said the National Weather Service confirmed a tornado that touched down in Trimble County and stayed on the ground into neighboring Carroll County. That storm destroyed the Milton Fire Station No. 2 about 10 miles west of Bedford.

  • Heavy damage reported in West Liberty in Morgan County, and Piner in Kenton County and some damage in Pendleton County.
  • 23,000 power outages statewide
  • Three injuries - two in Trimble County, one in Union County
  • Flash flooding on U.S. 25 and KY 1344 in Middlesboro
  • 17 homes and 20 units of an apartment complex heavily damaged in Harvester subdivision near Crittenden in Grant County
  • Heavy damage in areas of Bath County
